Our Vision, part of the "SMFL Way," states our aim to encourage employee development. To this end, we will create an environment in which diverse and motivated employees can fully engage in their work, and deeply involve themselves in providing value to society and our customers.
Engagement
Upon creating an environment in which diverse and motivated employees can fully engage in their work, and deeply involve themselves in providing value to society and customers, we recognize the critical need to enhance engagement while promoting our human capital strategy.
Enhancing engagement will stimulate our employees
to contribute to SMFL and their work, improve motivation, and lead to job satisfaction, as well as help secure talented human resource and nurture a culture in which people grow. This in turn will allow us to achieve greater performance
and higher corporate value. SMFL therefore aims to further improve employee engagement, and to encourage employees to take the initiative in promoting efforts that help enhance engagement. To this end, we are working to improve engagement by communicating the importance of its enhancement, engaging in multiple initiatives* that help deepen engagement, conduct annual engagement surveys, and monitor the organizational status on a regular basis.
As one of the primary missions of the Human Resources Department, enhancing engagement involves planning and proposing measures that help to increase job satisfaction among our employees and to enhance engagement on an ongoing basis, thereby contributing to the mutual growth of employees and SMFL.

Measures aimed at enhancing engagement
- Cross-organizational events titled SMFL Hello!! Project (SMFL family days, mid-career employee networking meetings, etc.)
- Efforts to foster a culture that conveys appreciation and admiration using Unipos
- Introduction of event subsidies for the purpose of facilitating communication within and beyond the bounds of departments and networking between employees
- Efforts to energize communication between employees and their supervisors through one-on-one meetings
- Dialogue with management through President's Town Hall Meeting and Executive Round Table
